Sharjah and Costa Rica have solid economic and cultural ties which are being further strengthened by the Department of Government Relations (DGR) in promoting mutual relations and investments between the two sides. The DGR builds on the long-standing cultural and historical ties Sharjah has with Costa Rica to bolster and deepen diplomatic and cultural ties as part of Sharjah’s commitment to building bridges of exchange and cooperation with fellow nations.
Moreover, Sharjah and Costa Rica share strong cultural relations that serve as a foundation for enhancing economic collaboration. This is through the mutual exchange of expertise and cooperation in a range of industries including culture, science, and technology. Sharjah’s Department of Government Relations has welcomed high-level delegations from Costa Rica for the past year in exploring partnership opportunities across numerous sectors that are flourishing under Sharjah’s comprehensive economic and social development strategy.
Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of DGR, led a delegation to Costa Rica to explore the possibility of collaboration and knowledge transfer. Rodrigo Chaves, the newly elected President of Costa Rica, and the ministerial team met earlier this year with the Sharjah delegation at the Presidential Palace in the capital San Jose.
